Jason Manar began his career as a Special Agent with the FBI in 2006 and was assigned to the Quad Cities RA in the Springfield Division. During his tenure in the Quad Cities, Mr. Manar became the Safe Streets Taskforce Coordinator investigating drug trafficking organizations, violent crime, cyber crime and transnational organized crime. In 2009, Mr. Manar was transferred to Detroit where he worked public corruption, civil rights and health care fraud.

In January 2013, Mr. Manar was promoted to Supervisory Special Agent (SSA) in Cyber Division where he worked in the Major Cyber Crimes Unit combating cyber criminal threats targeting U.S. entities. During this time, Mr. Manar built relationships with key partners from the private sector such as Microsoft. Mr. Manar was instrumental in the creation of Microsoft’s Cybercrime Center, which allowed embedded SSAs to work directly with their private sector counterparts.

In January 2015, Mr. Manar was assigned as the Miami cyber SSA, where he became the Cyber Program Coordinator (PCOR) and oversaw complex cyber intrusion investigations. Also during this time, Mr. Manar was Acting Assistant Special Agent in Charge (A/ASAC) during the Parkland High School shooting and oversaw the response of ERT, SWAT and OVA assets.

In August 2021, Mr. Manar was promoted to Assistant Special Agent in Charge in San Diego overseeing all Cyber, Counterintelligence, Intelligence, and Language Service programs.

Prior to his FBI career, Mr. Manar served as a Kentucky State Trooper and detective. Mr. Manar has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Murray State University.

Jason is a graduate of Murray State University. Prior to joining the FBI, he served six years with the Kentucky State Police as a Trooper and Detective.

He was recently promoted to Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the San Diego office responsible for all Cyber, Counterintelligence, Intelligence, and Language Service programs. Prior to being named ASAC, Jason was the Miami Cyber Crime Supervisory Special Agent and managed all FBI criminal cyber operations within the Southern District of Florida, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. He has also, served at FBI Headquarters in the Major Cyber Crimes Unit combating cyber criminal threats targeting U.S. entities. He has additionally, served as the Safe Streets Gang & Violent Crime Task Force Coordinator for the FBI’s Springfield Division and worked high level public corruption and health care fraud cases in the Detroit Division. All these experiences have yielded him an invaluable holistic perspective as it relates to today’s cyber landscape.
